The Villas of Rome: Painting in Oil “alla prima”
If you have ever dreamed of painting in oil out in the open air in the middle of an Italian villa, here’s your chance: join the American painter Timothy Joseph Allen for a 4-day adventure painting “alla prima” in some of Rome’s most beautiful villas: Villa Ada, Villa Pamphilj, Villa Borghese and on the last day we will set up on the Aventine hill next to Rome’s Rose garden and look out over Circus Maximus toward the majestic ruins of Palatine hill.
This workshop is limited to those who have already had some experience painting in oil or who have already had taken a course at The Painting & Drawing Art Studio of Rome. For those without any experience wanting to take this workshop, we recommend you take the 4-day drawing workshop that precedes this one.
