On Thursday, November 10th, 2022, PADASOR was delighted to welcome the painter Leonid Ilyukhin for an hour-long presentation of the ceiling painting he is developing for a new library ‘sala’ in the Villa Falconieri.

With about twenty people in attendance, Leonid discussed the overall re-design of the room–the bookshelves, the floor and the shape of the ceiling–and how all of these were interconnected with his ideas of composition and subjects for the painting.  The new library will be home to a collection of old books of ancient Greek and Roman philosophers, and the ceiling will reflect that with portraits of many of the philosophers from ancient times.
