Painting Workshop: Portraits in the Landscape

Join me for two afternoons in on the Gianicolo in Rome (photo above) for oil painting alla prima.  The subject?  The newly restored busts and the view of Rome!  In particular, I’ll discuss composition, paint opacity and the development of meaning through formal considerations.

When
Saturday, July 2nd and Sunday, July 3rd, 16:00 – 20:00.

Where
Gianicolo in front of the Statue of Garibaldi.

Cost
€160 for the two days (8 hours).

Participants
Minimum: 4 – Maximum: 12

Materials

  • – French Easel;
  • – Oil Paints;
  • – Walnut Oil (medium)
  • – Brushes;
  • – Canvas or a canvas stretched over a board at least 30 cm x 60 cm;
  • – Wet wipes – great for cleaning brushes and hands!
  • – A hat;
  • – An umbrella (for rain or shade!);
