Meet the Model:
Turris Eburnea

Born in 1985, in Potenza, as Mariangela, she is well known as Turris Eburnea, her name as professional lifedrawing and photo model.

Graduated with honours at “Sapienza” University in Rome (first degree in “Letteratura, Musica e Spettacolo”, second degree in “Forme e tecniche dello spettacolo”) she started to pose since 2010, without interruption, while attending the Scuola internazionale di Teatro in Rome in order to become an actress. She speaks Italian, French and English. She is learning Spanish too.

Because of her elastic body, she loves to pose for anatomy sessions as well as she organizes life sessions with costumes and props to recreate famous paintings, or to be inspired by movies, works of different arts and everything is related to humanity and the human body (naked or not).

She loves her work as a model, because she can “act” and “perform” even if she must stay still and mute. The body speaks for her. As lifedrawingmodel and photomodel, Turris Eburnea considers herself as a “model” of humanity as well as an actor must be “everyman” around the world, beyond space and time. She would like to rewrite the History of Art under the true perspective of a lifedrawingmodel…

Meet the Studio Supervisor:
Caroline Robinson

Caroline is from England and lives near Rome. She has a degree in Fine Art from the University of Neecastle-Upon -Tyne (UK) and a Masters Degree in Mental Health.
After a gap of some years, whilst pursuing a different career, she returned to life drawing and started portrait painting, initially in London under instruction from Des Haughton and laterly with Tim’s guidance in Rome.

Caroline is open minded about expression v accuracy in drawing, although they are not mutually exclusive. Whatever personal style, she values the opportunity to work from life as an experience that results in a unique freshness, as the artist draws or paints what they actually see, rather than a version of somebody else’s interpretation.

She has recently been teaching art to children and young people at an international school in Rome.
